IdeZ (Immunoglobulin-degrading enzyme from Streptococcus equi subspecies zooepidemicus) is an engineered recombinant protease overexpressed in Escherichia coli. IdeZ Protease specifically cleaves IgG molecules below the hinge region to yield F(ab´)2 and Fc fragments.
