RealTime-Glo™ Annexin V Apoptosis and Necrosis Assay Technical Manual

Instructions for Use of Product(s)

Literature # TM507

The RealTime-Glo™ Apoptosis and Necrosis Assay measures exposure of phosphatidylserine (PS) on the outer leaflet of the cell membrane during the apoptotic process, and loss of membrane integrity during secondary necrosis. Annexin V binding is detected with a simple luminescence signal, and necrosis is detected with a fluorescent DNA binding dye.

The add-and-read method monitors the progression of apoptosis in real time with a simple method that does not require wash steps or flow cytometry. The plate-based assay allows repeated measurements from the same sample well. A multimode plate-reader is required for detection of luminescence and fluorescence signals.
